Kangana Ranaut who always remains on the headlines of news either for her movies or controversial statements, now slams the ‘movie mafia’ who earlier tried suppressed her movie Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, according to her, after the film gets a huge appreciation overseas.
Kangana was pretty disappointed when Zoya Akhtar’s film Gully Boy was critically acclaimed but her directorial debut was tried to be defamed and her initial reaction after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is selected for screening at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, clearly shows that.
In an interview, Kangana has said “We are thrilled with this development, especially when Gully Boy was hailed by the entire industry and there was not a single word by anyone on Manikarnika. The movie mafia tried to kill this film but for Manikarnika to get commercial success and now international recognition along with other celebrated films is a big slap on movie mafia’s face. You can’t stop a good film especially in this time and age when the world is all one big family because of social media.”
The 32-years-old-actress is currently working on her upcoming projects Mental Hai Kya and Panga. Kangana’s social media handle shows right now she is spending some quality time with her family in her hometown Manali, Himachal Pradesh.
However, how the ‘movie mafia’ now reacts to Kangana’s straightforward comment is surely a matter to look forward.
